Kendra says: "I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina. I was awarded my Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from North Carolina Central University. I have nearly a decade of experience in working with adolescents and young adults. My experience with this population includes mentoring, teaching, coaching, and counseling. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside many family members of all ages throughout my work with adolescents and young adults. 

As a counselor, I aim to be sensitive, authentic, empathic, nonjudgmental, and ethical. I strive to meet the needs of my clients by using various therapeutic techniques that best suit the individual. The theoretical orientation I adhere to is person-centered counseling. This orientation places great importance on the power of clients to resolve their own issues through the counseling process, within a warm and empathic setting. 

My overall outlook can be summed up in one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 'Darkness can not drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate can not drive out hate, only love can do that.' A path of light and love will always lead you to the best version of yourself. ."
