Jen Walsh, MSW, LCSW-A

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who believes that healing begins in a space where people feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I earned my master’s degree from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, where I specialized in trauma and interpersonal violence.

I am especially passionate about working with deeply feeling children, caregivers, and adults navigating complex trauma, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or major life transitions. My approach blends warmth, mindfulness, and evidence-based tools to help clients slow down, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves and those they love. My trauma-informed approach recognizes that every person’s story—and nervous system—is unique. I integrate evidence-based practices with creative and easily accessible tools tailored to each client’s needs. I often share that therapy can feel a bit like “re-coding” the brain: when one line of code isn’t connecting properly, we don’t rewrite the whole system—we gently repair that part so everything can run more smoothly again. Healing is possible, and each small shift makes space for greater connection and calm.

I began my career in New York City with Safe Horizon, walking alongside children and families who had experienced physical and sexual abuse. Using the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) model—an evidence-based, short-term approach—I helped families begin the process of safety and healing after trauma. I later joined the Coalition for the Homeless, where I supported women rebuilding stability, employment, and self-worth during some of life’s hardest transitions, and supervised MSW interns entering the field of social work. I have also supported children and families with disabilities through therapeutic riding with Reins From Above Therapeutic Riding Center, where I have witnessed the unique and grounding connection between humans and animals. I am currently training in Child-Centered Play Therapy and plan to pursue certification in Animal-Assisted Play Therapy, continuing to deepen my integrative approach.

I offer sessions both in person and via telehealth and look forward to partnering with you on your path toward calm, confidence, and meaningful change.
